What is Epithalon?
Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed from work on peptide extracts of the pineal gland. Like Pinealon, it belongs to the short peptide bioregulator class associated with the Khavinson group.
The published interest centres on reports of telomerase activity in cell culture — an unusual claim for a molecule of only four residues, and one that has attracted attention precisely because short peptides are not typical regulators of that enzyme. This literature is concentrated in a small number of institutions and is not widely replicated outside them, which is relevant context when evaluating it.
