What is Pinealon?
Pinealon is a synthetic tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) belonging to the class of very short peptides known in the Russian literature as peptide bioregulators, developed from work associated with the Khavinson group on tissue-specific short sequences.
The research premise for this class is that peptides of only two to four residues are small enough to interact directly with DNA and chromatin, and published work examines effects on gene expression in neuronal cell models and rodent brain tissue. This literature is largely confined to a small number of institutions and is far less replicated than the mainstream peptide literature — worth knowing when assessing it.
